About Farrukh

I am a writer, a therapist, and a researcher. The same thread runs through all three.
My memoir, Red House, (work in progress) tells the story of my brother's illness and the family losses that followed. It is a book about caring, grief, and finding your way back to yourself.
I have also translated Urdu poetry (Meree Dunya), written a textbook on social work values and ethics now published in English and Chinese, and contributed academic writing on Focusing and person-centred practice. My doctoral research explores how Focusing can be brought into higher education.
Across all of it, I am drawn to the same people: those who have spent years holding others – through illness, caring, family duty – and lost themselves somewhere along the way. My therapeutic work is where that care becomes practical.
Through biodynamic craniosacral therapy, SCENAR, Focusing and bioresonance, and through life-writing groups and courses, I offer a calm, unhurried space to settle the nervous system, listen inward, and begin to come back to yourself.
Whether you have found me through the writing or are looking for support with stress, grief or a season of overwhelm, you are warmly welcome.
